Spotlight On West Ham United #5

West Ham United have enjoyed a fine run of form that saw them move up to sixth place in the Premier League table, before Arsenal subsequently moved them down to seventh at the weekend. A gritty display saw them hold Premier League champions Manchester City 0-0 at Upton Park, before they took home all three points in the 1-0 victory against Newcastle United at St James Park. It's the perfect response from Sam Allardyce's men after their disappointing 2-1 loss at a struggling Wigan Athletic side, and it sees them with double the amount of points of fellow Championship promotion winners last season.

West Ham United take on Stoke City at Upton Park tonight, knowing that a victory would move them up into fifth place in the Premier League table, just three points behind Chelsea who sit in third place, with West Bromwich Albion inbetween. The Hammers then travel to White Hart Lane for a London derby with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford next Wednesday night. Their tricky fixture list continues with the visit of Chelsea and then Liverpool to Upton Park on the 1st and 9th of December respectively, with Hammers fans likely to have a better idea of how well their side are doing upon their return to the Premier League after these tricky matches have passed.
